............Truancy and Advocacy

The Attendance Assistance Program is dedicated to helping truant students stay in school, decrease daily absenteeism, decrease the number of discipline referrals, improve academic performance and increase participation in extracurricular activities.

The program has been suspended due to state funding issues.

Attendance Assistance Program Specialists have worked in cooperation with Regional Offices of Education, schools, students, families, community service agencies and the criminal justice system throughout Will, Kendall and Grundy Counties to remove barriers that keep children and adolescents from attending school.

Homeless Liaison Program
Education Service Network is responsible for providing homeless liaison services in Grundy and Kendall Counties.
The Homeless Liaison Program provides training and technical assistance to all school districts in the two counties and assists community service providers in the implementation of the U.S. McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act (part of the No Child Left Behind Act) and the Illinois Education for Homeless Children Act (IEHCA).  Learn more.
